I am trained in Family Medicine but have worked in acute care as a Hospitalist for over a decade in Texas. My training emphasized preventive care, yet my practice has primarily involved acute care. I have witnessed patients fall ill, get hospitalized, improve, and go home, but some succumb to complications from chronic medical conditions. I’ve come to realize that the only truly effective treatment is prevention. Preventive medicine is often undervalued by patients, and I aim to change this perception by starting a primary care practice focused on improving patient health. My practice extends beyond the four walls of my office—I offer services at the very heart of all chronic conditions, which includes patients’ homes, whether it’s in assisted living, a group home, or their private residence. Telemedicine and remote patient monitoring, when used appropriately, are powerful tools that can provide deep insights into patient health.
